FLEXcombo®: Preparation, dosage and administration
FLEXcombo® is given as a single intramuscular injection of 2ml – 1ml Ingelvac CircoFLEX® + 1ml Ingelvac MycoFLEX®.
FLEXcombo® may be given to piglets at any age from 3 weeks.
Preparation with 50ml bottles:
Step 1:
Connect one end of the first transfer needle to the vaccine bottle of Ingelvac CircoFLEX®.
Step 2:
Connect the opposite end of the transfer needle to the transfer container.
Step 3:
Aseptically transfer the Ingelvac CircoFLEX® vaccine to the transfer container by inverting the vaccine bottle.
Step 4:
If needed, gently press the vaccine bottle to facilitate the transfer.
Step 5:
After transfer of the full content, disconnect and discard the empty vaccine bottle.
Step 6:
To transfer the Ingelvac MycoFLEX® to the transfer container containing the Ingelvac CircoFLEX®, connect the Ingelvac MycoFLEX® vaccine bottle to the transfer needle. If needed, gently press the vaccine bottle to facilitate the transfer.
Step 7:
After transfer of the full content, disconnect and discard the vaccine bottle.
Step 8:
Disconnect the transfer needle from the transfer container and discard.
Step 9:
To ensure appropriate mixing of the vaccines, shake the transfer container well until the mixture is of uniform orange to reddish colour. During vaccination the uniformity of the coloured mixture should be monitored and maintained by continuous agitation.
Step 10:
Administer one single injection dose (2ml) of the mixture intramuscularly per pig, irrespective of body weight. For administration, vaccine devices should be used in accordance with the device instructions provided by the manufacturer.
- Use a pre-sterilised transfer needle*
- Use a pre-sterilised transfer container of at least double the volume of an individual bottle size*
* Pre-sterilised transfer containers and transfer needles (CE certified) are commonly available via medical equipment suppliers
Preparation with 10ml bottles:
Step 1:
Connect one end of the transfer needle to the vaccine bottle of Ingelvac CircoFLEX®.
Step 2:
Connect the opposite end of the transfer needle to the vaccine bottle of Ingelvac MycoFLEX®. Aseptically transfer the Ingelvac MycoFLEX® vaccine to the vaccine bottle of Ingelvac CircoFLEX®. If needed, gently press the vaccine bottle to facilitate the transfer.
Step 3:
After transfer of the full content, disconnect and discard the transfer needle and the empty vaccine bottle.
Step 4:
To ensure appropriate mixing of the vaccines, shake the vaccine bottle well until the mixture is of uniform orange to reddish colour. During vaccination the uniformity of the coloured mixture should be monitored and maintained by continuous agitation.
